Belinda Saldaña Harmon, Director of Community Outreach for the Institute for P-20 Initiatives and current President of the Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education (TACHE) is pleased to announce that Dr. Mariela A. Rodriguez has been selected as the recipient of the 2018 TACHE Distinguished University Faculty Award. Dr. Rodriguez is currently an Associate Dean in the Graduate School serving as Director of Teaching, Learning, and Professional Development. She is also a professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at UTSA. Dr. Rodriguez will receive the award at the 43rd annual conference being held in Dallas /Addison from February 28- March 3, 2018.
Two UTSA Graduate students, Jeanette Morales and Liliana Gutierrez are among those selected as 2018 TACHE Graduate Fellows and will also receive their awards at the conference. Dr. Enrique Alemán Jr., UTSA Professor and Chair in the Department of Educational Leadership & Policy Studies will open the TACHE conference with his award winning film, Stolen Education.
